GLORY BE TO GOD THE FATHER GOD THE SON GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

My dearest friends in Christ! What an absolute pleasure and joy it is to get in touch with you all through this blog and bring God’s word to you! Hallelujah!

I’m sure the Lord has led you all wonderfully through the past 6 months of this New Year 2024! Isn’t it amazing to know that we have completed half the year successfully through His abounding grace!?

As you stay in a state of celebration, acknowledging the Lords’s goodness I have another exciting word for you this month!

The Lord specifically promised me that, this month is going to be a Month of Victory!! Hallelujah! In Jesus name, Amen!

There are a few instances I was reminded of when this Word hit me.

The first incident is recorded in 1 Samuel 17:47, “Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and HE will give you into our hands.” This passage records the event when David met Goliath and defeated him with just a pebble stone! David who went to see how his brothers fared in the war, did not in the slightest sense knew that the Lord was taking him there to bring down a giant who was feared by all of Israel!

The second is recorded in Isaiah 37:36, “Then the Angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people (the Israelites) arose early in the morning, there were the corpses – all dead.” This passage records the time when the Assyrian king threatened King Hezekiah that hew would take over Isarel just as he took over the other nations he had defeated and brought to nothing! It is recorded in Isaiah 37:14 that, “When Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.”

The third incident is recorded in Nehemiah 2:20, “So I answered them, and said to them, ‘The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore, we His servants will arise and build, but you have no heritage or right or memorial in Jerusalem.” This is a well-known account of how the Lord brought His people together to rebuild the walls Jerusalem during their exile in pagan countries!

Well, it wouldn’t suffice even if we write a full account of how the Lord fought the battles for His people! Be it Abraham rescuing Lot and his men (Genesis 14:14), Moses leading the children of Israel through the wilderness and Pharoah’s army subdued in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:13,14), the umpteen nations Israel won in battle under the leadership of Joshua(Psalm 136), Jericho walls tumbling down (Joshua 6:20), Gideon and his 300 men(Judges 7:21,22), Barak and Sisera (Judges 4:15), Jonathan and his armour bearer (! Samuel 14:14), Samson and the thousand Philistines (Judges 15:15), King Asa and the Ethiopians (2 Chronicles 14:12-15)….we can go on and on about the countless battles the Lord Himself fought for His children!

The one peculiar commonality the Lord reminded me in all of these instances were, is that, through all these events the people did nothing or had to do very little to won the battle! The victory was not through their might or planning or strength but through the Lord! (Zecheriah 4:6). In fact the Lord clearly reminded me of King Hezekiah’s story when the whole nation of Israel was peacefully resting and sleeping when the Angel of the Lord struck their enemies so much so when the nation woke up in the morning none remained! (Isaish 37:36) Hallelujah!

My dearest friend, I have no idea what battles you have been facing over the last few days, months, years or decades even! But the Lord specifically promises you that while you rest and sleep peacefully, the Angel of the Lord will win the Battle for you! For the Battle is not yours but the Lord’s! (2 Chronicles 20:15-17)

In fact, I was taken aback more by what the Lord had to tell me as the climax story! And here it goes!

The whole world was sleeping when the Saviour of the whole universe stepped down as a Baby to win the ultimate Battle for us against death! (Luke 2:8-20) The whole world was asleep when he died on the Cross for our sins (Romans 5:8), chastised for iniquities so that we may have His peace! (Isaiah 53:5) Hallelujah! What an amazing, awesome, mighty and loving God we serve!

My friend, your victory will come simply when you are resting and sleeping in the Lord’s presence. (Isaiah 30:15) You need not battle, the Angel of the Lord will Battle for you! You just need to be still and know that He is God! (Psalm 46:10)
